Interview with Lina Ghotmeh for the architectural magazine Chroniques d’Architecture on our creative approach, an ‘Archeology of the Future’. A detective methodology seeking for clues to deploy an architecture anchored in the landscape. Interview by Julie Roland.
Our proposal "Urban Dance" wins the competition initiated by the City of Tours for the creation of the new National Choreographic Center in the Casernes Beaumont-Chauveau district. Designed as an ode to dance and movement, the architecture of this project creates a fertile urban opening towards discoveries and possibilities.
Lina Ghotmeh — Architecture conceives the innovative and ecological urban project "IP Factory" in collaboration with Heatherwick Studio, DVVD, and Brenac & Gonzalez, finalist of the last stage of the call for projects "Inventer Bruneseau" initiated by the City of Paris and SEMAPA. A new vision for an alternative living based on circular economy. The project connects Paris to Ivry through the development of a new district entirely dedicated to transition. A territorial, ecological and societal sustainable transition.
Reflecting on her practice, Lina Ghotmeh lectures on June 6th for ARCHITECT@WORK in Marseille on 'The Nature of Architecture'. As in an archeological dig, each project unveils buried stories in the soil in which they are implanted. Museum or object, memory dialogs with matter to emerge the originality of all creation.

After the tragic events occured this last 15th of April in Paris, where a fire broke out and destroyed Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral's wooden franmework and iconic spire, Lina Ghotmeh, Jacques Ferrier and Roland Castro tried to project themselves into the future of the Parisian monument and debated on the possible reconstruction of it's precious losses.
Our atelier in two exhibitions at the Pavillon d'Arsenal in Paris in the context of: "Haute Agora', an exhibition initiated by Jean-Christophe Quinton and the engeneers Bolliger+Grohmann exploring the potential of big structures to receive human activotoes, and in the "Paris Rive Gauche" exhibition staging the history and news of the parisian left bank in the context of the call for projects "Inventer Bruneseau".
