IP Factory - Invent Bruneseau
The “Inventing Bruneseau” call for an urban project for the development of a 100 000 sqm area situated in Bruneseau, at both sides of the Paris and its periphery Ivry. Our ambition through our proposal, finalist and 2nd Prized in Competition, was to insufflate a new intensity, capable of generating a strong new dynamic through a dense mixed-use program. The goal is to domesticate the highway infrastructures, making them become permeable and using them to create a neighborhood at heights and setting a new metropolitan urban landscape in the Seine’s docks.
Our project operates an exemplary transition, by transforming the ring-road’s constrained surroundings into a sustainability model and attractive neighborhood. The challenge resides in the relation to the human scale. Creating a village, a factory, is a new way to imagine the city of tomorrow: replacing humans in the conception of cities by thinking the microscale before the macroscale.
Our atelier develops a new urban landscape drawn by a lively street linking Paris to Ivry. This alley emerges on one side from the ground to the heights of 4 towers alongside the road-ring, on the other hand, from a wooden tower hosting a student residence. Along the alley, we imagined Circular Pavilions, the laboratories for tomorrow’s urbanity. The pavilions are constructed with wooden structures and from recycled materials, hosting usages contributing to the development of social bond, as well as collective and individual responsibility. An ecosystem of innovative and proximity uses constituting a cultural destination at the metropolitan scale.
