Exhibition. Olga de Amaral Fondation Cartier.
The exhibition dedicated to Olga de Amaral at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain is a significant event, not only for the artist but also for the institution itself. It is the last show to be organized in the iconic building designed by Jean Nouvel before the Fondation moves to a new location.
Lina Ghotmeh has envisioned an immersive scenography where Olga de Amaral’s woven works harmoniously interact with the space. Visitors are invited to explore a poetic and sensory landscape: a garden of slate stones evokes a mineral nature, while a sky of suspended brumas creates a celestial atmosphere. This contemplative environment culminates in an intimate cocoon, where the subtle golds and lights emanating from the woven works of Olga de Amaral captivate the eye, evoking a meeting between materiality and spirituality.
This exhibition highlights the creative force of the Colombian artist and symbolizes a pivotal transition for the Fondation Cartier.
